This week sees EMBS celebrating 1 year of being located at Darley Abbey Mills and it’s safe to say – we haven’t looked back. Having previously outgrown our office on Friar Gate, moving to such a beautiful open space has definitely taken some getting used to!
Simon Bucknell said “Moving to Darley Abbey Mills has been amazing, although we didn’t appreciate how much of an effect it would have on the culture. We find we work differently here. It’s much more collaborative, we feel more like a team, and that has to be a good thing.”
Located in a World Heritage site, the office sits on the edge of Darley Park. The many windows around our office provide stunning views and create a light and airy feel; it’s been great to watch all the seasons come and go.
Internally, our office space encourages the ‘work hard, play hard ethic.’ James Hall explains “it is a sociable place. We have a huge kitchen table so we can all eat together, we play pool and darts and enjoy the space. When you spend over 40 hours a week it’s important to love the environment you are in as well as the work you do.”
“It’s great to have an office with the wow factor, when visitors come in to the office for the first time, they can’t help but be impressed with the space and the character” says Jamie Elliss. “It’s a great selling point for the company and has already helped us attract new staff.”
In many ways, we can’t believe we have been here for a year already, although having said that, we can’t imagine having an office anywhere else!
